When I first saw the trailer for this film I was expecting a mediocre but entertaining flick. But what I got was much more, this movie is not only entertaining but it was outstanding. This is not a dumb movie, yeah the story is simple but it's worth investing yourself into it. Dakota Goyo who is a child actor was superb and did a fantastic job bringing out the emotion on screen and even for the audiences. Sometimes it really did feel like he carried the movie. I never cheered in a theater before but I was so very close to doing it, like really wanted to get out of my seat and cheer. Because the character development and the way it carried the emotions was so well done. This is a excellent family film that is a must watch if you enjoy watching movies. Movies like this is why I go to the theaters and it was worth every penny. Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton who is a washed up boxer and starts out as a selfish guy and a bit of a prick but like I said there is a lot of character development in this. And character you think of one way changes after the story progresses. But Charlie was passable even for a prick since it was played by Hugh Jackman, since it's very difficult to hate that guy. To sum it up this movie is about robots bashing the hell out of each other in the ring. But it's amazing how for a movie like this it really does tugs on the heartstrings and will get most audiences emotionally invested in the characters and even the robot itself. Some may say this is a rip off of "Rocky" but I don't care since this movie was great to the point some of it's flaws are forgivable. This is a must watch and will be looking forward to the sequel, hopefully it will be at least as good as this one.
